No place like home?

Domiciliary provision is an essential service for some patients, but a domestic setting can be a challenging environment for dental practice.

Facilitating patient-centred care in this way highlights the importance of effective cooperation in providing the best outcome for patients.

Clinical Director, Solent NHS Trust

BDS, MSc, DDPH, RCS Denise qualified from Manchester Dental School in 1981 and after a year in general practice she joined the Community Dental service in Southampton. She now combines her role as Clinical Director at Solent NHS Trust with two days' clinical practice each week including domiciliary visits. Solent NHS Trust provides community dental care in Hampshire, prison dental services at HMP Winchester and the Isle of Wight as well as managing orthodontic and oral surgery referrals in the Wessex region. Denise has master's degrees in gerodontology and in dental public health.
